This is our hipster tour. Venture through Copenhagen’s hippy district, Riga’s best bars, and the hippest secrets of Europe.
Everyone has a hipster side, whether they like to admit it or not. A little piece of themselves that’s secretly smug, that’s precious over their favourite lesser-known bands or up-and-coming actors. You knew Elvis when he was playing drunken dive bar sets, we get it. Well this is our unashamedly hipster side. Our ‘before-it-was-cool’ tour. From open sandwiches to beaver stew, come with us and indulge in a smorgasbord of Instagrammable foods that nobody’s ever heard of. Go partying in disused meat-packing factories and bars sculpted from ice. On this trip, you’ll venture through Copenhagen’s hippie district, the Baltic’s best bars, and the hippest secrets of Europe. Take an island-hopping excursion in Oslo and check out the Scandinavian landscapes and traditional fishing villages. Just do it soon, so you can say you did it before it was cool!

Berlin to Copenhagen
Our sultry adventure begins as we depart Berlin with Copenhagen as our destination. Sit back, relax, and brush up on your Viking war poetry as you enjoy our comfy coach and gaze wistfully at the idyllic German countryside. Once we reach the coast, we’ll board our ferry and set sail to our Danish destination. We’ll arrive in the late afternoon, so get checked in and prepare for an optional dinner. Afterwards, feel free to acquaint yourself with the city at your leisure or join us for an optional pub crawl to experience the nightlife of this incredible city.
This morning, our fabulous Busabout guide will lead us on an orientation walk of the city, highlighting the fantastic sights on offer. Spend the afternoon checking out the many museums, fountains, parks, and sculptures, before grabbing a bite to eat in one of Denmark’s world renowned restaurants. Alternatively, shop until Thor strikes you down in the maze of eclectic storefronts. For the more free spirited, head out to Freetown Christiania, a local anarchist community living on a former military base. This rebel stronghold is bustling with unique architecture, murals, and ideals. Tonight, join us for a trip to Tivoli Gardens where you can enjoy rides and games in the world’s second oldest amusement park!
Copenhagen to Oslo
Copenhagen’s been fun but Oslo awaits, so we board our ferry and continue into the thumping heart of Norway. We’ll arrive in the Norwegian capital come afternoon, following a quick stop off at Frogner Park. A sprawling utopia of greenland, Frogner park is home to the exquisite Frogner Manor as well as the Vigeland Sculpture Park - the world’s largest sculpture park made by a single artist. On arrival, we’ll enjoy an orientation walk where we’ll soak up the sights of this outstanding city. This evening, we’ll head for dinner and drinks at a local brewery, where we’ll recharge and prepare for a day of exploration tomorrow.
Oslo, the opulent jewel of Norway, welcomes you to explore its historic streets today. Find this ancient city’s hidden gems, like the charming, time-locked streets of Damstredet & Telthusbakken. Or join us on an optional Viking Biking Tour if you wish to explore the region’s rich history by pedal power. We also offer an island fjord hopping tour, where you can enjoy the gently lapping waves. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to the mouth-watering Oslo food markets to sate your culinary needs. This evening, we will walk to watch the sunset from the Opera House for a view you’ll not soon forget. Enjoy the rest of your evening exploring Oslo’s nightlife.
Oslo to Stockholm
Sweden’s next! We recommend keeping cameras handy as we’ll be stopping for a picnic along the northern shores of the largest lake in the European Union, Lake Vanern. After basking in Lake Vanern’s glory, we’ll get the show back on the road and arrive in Stockholm for the afternoon. Sure, we’ve only just arrived but why wait? We’re off to sample the local delicacy: Swedish meatballs! Once we’ve had our fill of meatballs, we’ll head for our for some booze in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town. Tonight, drink like a Viking, absorb the Scandinavian atmosphere and party the night away!
Today marks the last full day of our Scandinavian adventure but there’s no time for broken hearts or sorrowful violin sonnets, and we’ll be kicking off the day with an inclusive Vikings walking tour. Join us on a voyage through the rich local lore of the world’s most infamous seafaring pillagers, where you’ll learn of the conquests, beliefs, and pageantry of history’s fiercest warriors. Afterwards, take the time to explore the Swedish capital and its many sights on your own terms. Just be sure to visit the Old Town and its medieval streets! This evening, we offer an optional excursion to an ice bar, so join us for a couple of (very, very) cold ones!
Stockholm to Tallinn (Overnight Cruise)
Today tick off any last minute to-dos, cram in some souvenir shopping, or challenge yourself to see as many sights as you can. Alternatively, join us for an optional bike tour of Stockholm’s lesser travelled gems. Once our whirlwind of a day draws to a close and the evening settles in, we’ll meet at the port and board our overnight ferry to Estonia. Before long, we’ll be cruising across the Baltic Sea with Tallinn in sight. Stand on the top deck and stare out at the Scandinavian Archipelago as we pass by. Enjoy an included delicious buffet dinner on-board and allow the soothing Baltic waves to rock you into a restful slumber.
Breakfast at sea is one of life’s great pleasures and this morning we’ll be indulging in it. Our ferry continues across the Baltic, bringing us into Tallinn late this morning. We’ll head off on an orientation walk to get our bearings and absorb all the fantastic sights of Estonia's capital. Afterwards, you’re free to explore on your own. Visit the Old Town and its medieval architecture, including numerous churches and the city walls. Or check out the iconic wooden houses of the harbour district of Kalamaja. This trendy area is located just off the bay and offers plenty of dining and entertainment options. Immerse yourself in this amazing city before kicking off the Baltic leg of our adventure with an optional dinner in an Estonian cellar bar.
Tallinn to Riga
Lovely Latvia calls today, and the rigorous city of Riga. We’ll be stopping at the seaside town of Parnu where we’ll enjoy the salt-sprinkled sea breeze. Next, we’ll continue onwards to the Latvian border. On our approach to Riga, we’ll be stopping at the Sigulda bobsleigh track, which was used as a training ground for Soviet-era bobsledders and lugers. We’ll arrive in Riga this late afternoon. Ready to join your fantastic Busabout guide for an orientation walk? We’ll hit up some of Riga’s top highlights and memorable sights along the way, like the towering Freedom Monument near the Old Town, and the incredibly ornate architecture of the House of Blackheads. Tonight, get acquainted with Latvian hospitality as we explore Riga’s nightlife.
Day 10: Riga to Vilnius
Next stop: Lithuania. En route, we’ll stop off at the ruins of Trakai Island Castle, which was destroyed by the Teutons in the late 1300s. The castle was never rebuilt and the remains are housed within the church. We’ll arrive into the Lithuanian capital city, Vilnius, this afternoon. After getting checked in, take some time to unwind and relax. There’ll be plenty of time to explore tomorrow! This evening, enjoy an optional Lithuanian feast, followed by an outing to explore the city’s local breweries and bars.
Day 11: Vilnius
Vilnius awaits today, so join your guide for an orientation walk of Lithuania’s largest city. We’ll meander through the remaining battlements of the castle at Gediminas’ Tower, then explore the Gate of Dawn. Next, we’ll head to the neighbourhood of Uzupis: a popular area with local artists, renowned for its bohemian atmosphere. The rest of the day is yours to do with as you will. Today’s your chance to soak as much of this vibrant city’s baroque architecture and complex history as possible! Join us tonight for an optional dinner where you’ll be able to sample zeppelins - a traditional dish, then spend the rest of the night exploring Vilnius’ emerging nightlife
Day 12: Vilnius to Warsaw
This morning, we’ll board our coach and set a course for the Polish border, waving Vilnius a contented farewell. Kick back and start dreaming of pierogis as we traverse the gorgeous Baltic countryside. This afternoon we’ll arrive in Warsaw, on the banks of the Vistula River. Join us on an orientation walk and see the tremendously varied architectural styles of the city’s historic Old Town. Later, we’ll turn our pierogi dreams into pierogi realities as we sit down for an optional polish dinner! Polish vodka is one of a kind and tonight we will visit a cool vodka bar to sample it.
Day 13: Warsaw
It’s your free day to explore this magnificent town. Climb atop the Academy of Culture and Sciences for amazing views over the town, visit the Uprising Museum or one of the city’s royal palaces, and go for a stroll along the Royal Route. To get fully immersed in Polish culture we highly recommend you check out a milk bar for lunch and join the optional pierogi class at the hostel tonight. However you wish to spend the rest of the day, just make the most of it and enjoy yourself before our final full day tomorrow.
Day 14: Warsaw to Berlin
Eagle-eyed passengers might start to notice that the landscape’s beginning to look awfully familiar today. You’re not crazy, nor are you suffering from deja vu, we’ve just come full circle and find ourselves in Berlin once more. Unfortunately, this means our amazing adventure is almost at an end. The good news is, you’re in Berlin! So head out there and check out all of the phenomenal sights on offer. Tonight’s our last night together, so we’ll head out for an optional dinner in a restaurant where you pour your own beer, followed by a tour of Berlin’s top sights.
