7 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Hoi An to Nha Trang (overnight train)
We’ll kick off our adventure in the bustling city of Hoi An! Wander into town and absorb the atmosphere of this ancient bustling hub. Why not venture out to the pristine local beaches and enjoy a chilled day basking in the sun? Grab the sunscreen and work on that tan whilst sipping on a fresh coconut and taking in your unbelievable surroundings. This evening we’ll bid farewell to our portside paradise and transfer to an overnight train, which will take us south along the coast. Come morning, we’ll arrive in the capital of Khanh Hoa Province, Nha Trang, where we’ll be greeted by the immaculate azure waters.
Day 2: Nha Trang
The gorgeous seaside city of Nha Trang calls to us this morning. Spend today enjoying Nha Trang’s otherworldly sights and cultural attractions! Gothic-style churches, Buddhist temples, natural hot springs, unique waterfalls, and salt fields are all at your fingertips today. Later we’ll regroup and hit the streets to experience the renowned nightlife in this breathtaking Vietnamese metropolis.
Day 3: Nha Trang to Dalat
We’ll be heading inland this morning, so say goodbye to the coast. The capital of Lam Dong Province calls, and we’ll be stopping en route at the Po Nagar Cham Towers! Enjoy included entry into this ancient temple dedicated to the goddess of the country, Yan Po Nagar. In the early afternoon we’ll be arriving at Dalat, where we’ll orientate ourselves with a short walk. Afterwards the day is yours to enjoy! Be sure to check out the phenomenal “Crazy House” and its strange, organic architecture.
Day 4: Dalat
Explore the city today and its numerous, incredible landmarks. Alternatively, join Mr Rot for his optional Secret Tour. On this tour you’ll visit all the best attractions including the cricket farms, a local market, silkworm farms, coffee plantations, the thundering Elephant Falls, local villages, and beautiful scenery. Mr Rot prides himself on providing an authentic Vietnamese experience, so everything you see will be off the beaten path. Our Secret Tour takes us into the evening and after grabbing a bite to eat, we’ll venture out for a truly surreal drinking experience in the bizzare decor of 100 Roofs Cafe!
Day 5: Dalat to Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, South Vietnam’s former capital, is today’s destination! We’ll be stopping twice en route, beginning with the resplendent Linh Phuoc Pagoda. Explore the temple’s beautiful decorations made of reclaimed glass and ceramic, and see the huge glass dragon sculpture! Stop two is for lunch on the peaceful banks of an idyllic local river. We’ll arrive in old Saigon in the afternoon and have an orientation walk to highlight the plentiful sights of this bustling city. Tonight is yours to do with as you please!
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City
Today, head out on an optional excursion to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, located a few hours northwest of old Saigon. These snaking tunnels were a crucial store and hideout for the Viet Cong during the war. Come afternoon we’ll visit the War Remnants Museum, formerly the American War Crimes Museum, to gain vivid insight into the conflict from a local perspective. This evening we’ll be enjoying our final night together! We’ll head to a local restaurant, followed by a trip into the backpacker triangle, neatly putting a bow on this epic Asian adventure!
Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City
Check-out is after breakfast. We hope to see you again!
