Bangkok to Khao Sok
Your adventure begins this morning in the eclectic Thai capital of Bangkok. Meet your fantastic Busabout guide and fellow passengers before heading out with a local guide for a discovery tour of one of the biggest Chinatowns outside of China. Climb aboard a tuk tuk and see the giant gilded Buddha at Wat Traimit as we make our way through the Odeon Circle and into Chinatown. Visit the numerous market stalls and sample the street food as you are led to all the areas of interest before an optional lunch with magnificent views of the river. We’ll then board a longtail boat to explore the Chao Phraya River, see the canalside artist community of Klong Bang Luang, visit Wat Po and enjoy an optional foot massage before heading to the breathtaking Temple of Dawn. Thereafter we transfer to Hua Lamphong Railway Station for our overnight train to Surat Thani.
Khao Sok National Park (Cheow Larn Lake)
We arrive into Surat Thani this morning and after a short transfer we arrive in our picturesque home for the next few days, Khao Sok National Park! This remnant of an ancient rainforest is home to some incredible scenery and awesome limestone cliffs. Get the camera out! We arrive at Cheow Lan Lake mid-morning and board a longtail boat to explore the jaw-dropping karst topography of the lake. Enjoy a traditional Thai lunch at our floating bungalow accommodation before having the rest of the day to chill on the lake. Take a kayak out and explore the stunning lake and surrounds, sunbathe and swim, or just relax on the deck. Tonight we enjoy a delicious Thai dinner on the water’s edge of Cheow Lan Lake. Yep, this is really happening!
Khao Sok National Park
Today we offer an unforgettable experience, an intimate encounter at the Khao Sok Elephant Experience. Meet Somboon the elephant, and the family that cares for him, and have the opportunity to prepare some tasty treats for him. Then it’s time to scrub the gentle giant down with a coconut husk as he enjoys a refreshing mud bath, before planting sugar cane for Somboon and his friends to enjoy in the future. Participation helps to fund the program and assist in rescuing more of these incredible animals! Afterwards we’ll head to our overnight destination of Khao Sok town for a relaxed dinner and some drinks at our riverside accommodation. Cheers!
Khao Sok National Park to Phuket
Explore the town and its beautiful surrounds, relax at the riverside, or join us for an awesome optional excursion. Join your guide for a meander down Sok River, see the diverse wildlife of the area and the breathtaking sights as you pass alongside entwined roots that erupt skywards along sheer limestone cliffs! Enjoy a delicious lunch in Khao Sok town before checking out for our afternoon transfer back to Phuket. We’ll arrive in Patong this evening and have an orientation walk of the area before heading out for a final dinner, followed by an excursion into the infamous Bangla Road to experience the rush of its vibrant nightlife. Get ready to let loose!
The tour ends after breakfast this morning. We hope to see you again!
