Move Oktoberfest to the top of your bucket list. It’s not just a European must-do; it ranks up there as one of the world’s biggest parties!
Imagine the best night you’ve ever had in your local bar, add a foolish amount of amusement rides, enough sausages to satisfy thousands of hungry Germans, people dressed like Disney princesses and traditional huntsmen and you still wouldn’t be close to how absurdly awesome this party is! On this four-day trip, you experience the best bits of Oktoberfest. You see the first keg unleashed at the opening festival and have time to explore the taps and marvels of Munich. We’ve even thrown in cooked breakfasts to make sure your hangovers don’t get in the way of your important ‘cultural’ beer-drinking duties!
We spend 4 days exploring Germany. We visit Munich.

4 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Munich
Your adventure begins with your check-in at the campsite in glorious Munich. Join your fabulous Busabout guide for an orientation walk of the city to help familiarise you with the numerous sights and activities on offer in the capital city of Bavaria. There will be plenty of time for shopping, sightseeing and checking out the local cuisine this afternoon, so feel free to take as much time as you would like. This evening visit one of Munich’s traditional beer halls and get to know your fellow travellers over a few steins in true Bavarian style, but don’t get too carried away as tomorrow we have an early start.
Day 2: Munich
This morning we catch our swift transfer to the festival grounds, to a celebration dating back to medieval times. The opening parade begins at 11am as the very kegs we are about to drink from are paraded through the streets by horse and cart in the traditional fashion. Once the landlords make their entry to the Theresienwiese, the party begins! Due to the extremely large crowds in attendance it is recommended we arrive early to ensure we get a table and service. Enjoy a few too many beers in the truly unique atmosphere of Oktoberfest. Marvel as you gain spontaneous fluency in German and can somehow sing along to the catchy folk songs!
Day 3: Munich
Feel free to explore the city at your leisure or check out some of our optional excursions. For those wanting to explore the darker days of Germany’s past we also offer a tour of Dachau, the first of the Nazi concentration camps. On a lighter note, get your blood pumping and discover Munich’s hidden gems on a bike tour of the city, or take a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle and see the inspiration behind the castle in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Enjoy your last full day in this incredible city, the kegs are still tapped so head off to the festival grounds and grab another stein and get lost in the incredible atmosphere.
Day 4: Munich
We check-out after breakfast. If you’re keeping the party going on our Hop-on Hop-off network, we’ll see you on the road. Next stop, the adventure of a lifetime!
