On this journey, you embrace this idyllic lifestyle, ponder over the ancient gods in the stunning piazzas of Rome and Florence, hike and drool over the beautiful vistas of Lake Como and Lauterbrunnen, and stuff your belly with sausages and beer in mighty Munich. This is a trip where you’ll learn how to live ‘la dolce vita’.

Day 1
Rome
Your adventure begins in the Italian capital of Rome. Meet with your fantastic Busabout guide to get a feel for the days to come and take some time to relax at the pool before heading out on an included tour with a local guide to see the sights and hear the history of Renaissance and Baroque Rome. See the great palaces, ornate fountains, beautiful piazzas, and historical monuments in a city with a unique depth of culture rarely seen elsewhere in the world. Tonight you are free to explore the city at your leisure, grab a tasty local treat around Trastevere or immerse yourself in the vibrant Italian nightlife.
Day 2
Rome to Florence
This morning we drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to our destination of Florence. We stop for lunch en route in the UNESCO-listed city of Siena before making our arrival in Florence. After checking in we depart for an included walking tour to see the magnificence of Duomo, Dante’s House, Piazza Signoria, numerous sculptures, and more including a leatherwork demonstration. Tonight we have a traditional 4-course Italian feast featuring the likes of bruschetta, pasta, spezatino, and gelati all washed down with some refreshing local vino. Then join us next door as we sing and dance the night away at the live karaoke bar.
Day 3
Florence
Head out into the heart of this Italian treasure and visit the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia, one of Florence’s numerous magnificent museums, revisit Santa Maria del Fiore and admire the gorgeous Ponte Vecchio. We offer two optional excursions to the Tuscan countryside today, sample the incredible views and tasty wines in Tuscany or explore the scenic countryside from horseback. Tonight head into the city for a night out in true Florentine style and party like there’s no tomorrow.
Day 4
Florence to Lucca to Pisa to Florence
Enjoy an early breakfast this morning as we have an early train to catch. We spend the day exploring the Renaissance era city walls of the charming ancient city of Lucca, on our return we have a stop in the world famous city of Pisa. Pisa is known for its famous leaning tower, however this city has a lot more to offer than a single photo opportunity, Pisa is home to a myriad of historic churches, numerous medieval bridges, and several medieval palaces. This evening make sure you sample the mouth-watering Florentine steak and wash it all down with some refreshing Chianti.
Day 5
Florence to Como
We board the coach and begin our journey to glamorous Lake Como, with a brief stop en route to see the harbours of the naval stronghold of La Spezia. We arrive into the natural spectacle of Como later this afternoon. Get checked in before joining your guide for an orientation walk of this charming town and see all the glitzy sights and scenic views. Keep your eyes peeled for celebrities as you enjoy some authentic gelato or relax by the lakeside with a drink. The evening explore the nightlife of this idyllic location.
Day 6
Lake Como
Spend the day living the lavish life in this staggeringly beautiful location enjoying the sights, sounds, and sampling the delicious local cuisine. Take the funicular to Brunate and take a short hike to the lighthouse for incredible panoramic views of the lake against the dramatic backdrop of the Grigna mountains. Take a trip to the perfectly positioned Bellagio located on an arm extending into the lake. There are many activities on offer out in the waters so try a cruise or even scuba diving and explore the aquatic side of this Italian gem.
Day 7
Lake Como to Lauterbrunnen
Kick back and relax as the coach winds its way through the stunning Italian countryside into the jaw dropping splendour of the Swiss Alps. We break through the pristine mountain wilderness and burst into a valley nestled between the high mountains and scattered with 72 waterfalls, our picturesque home for the next few days, the sleepy Alpine village of Lauterbrunnen. We check in this evening just in time for a delicious, traditional Swiss dinner. Tonight we recommend relaxing and saving your energy for all the adventure to come.
Day 8
Lauterbrunnen
Have another great breakfast before spending the whole day in awe of Lauterbrunnen’s staggering natural beauty. Explore the area and discover all that this mountainous nirvana has to offer on one of the many hiking trails in the area and discover the many local falls. Venture to the “Top of Europe” via the funicular and summit Schilthorn. Whilst you’re up there soak in the views or visit the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant as featured in 007 “On Her Majesty's Secret Service”. Grab a bite to eat whilst enjoying the breathtaking panorama from up high before heading back to while away the hours under the clear mountain skies.
Day 9
Lauterbrunnen
Prepare for another day removed from the hustle and bustle of the big city! Get in touch with your inner adrenaline junkie today as Interlaken has many heart racing optionals to experience. Sign up to take on the rapids as you float through the picturesque Alps whilst white water rafting, take to the skies and experience a truly unique perspective on the magical surroundings. Soak up the rich mountain atmosphere and make the most of your final night in this small slice of Alpine heaven.
Day 10
Day 10: Lauterbrunnen to Munich
This morning we board our trusty coach and set our sights on the German border and our final destination, the Bavarian capital of Munich. We check in this evening and then head out on an orientation walk of the Old Town and see the impressive architecture of the Cathedral of Our Dear Lady, visit Munich Frauenkirche, and learn the legend of the Devil's Footstep. Tonight we share our final dinner together enjoying the world-renowned Bavarian cuisine in one of Munich’s numerous beer halls. Sample the local delicacies and trade traveller’s tales with your fellow passengers over a cold stein of Bavarian beer.
