Siesta Fiesta 9 day itinerary

Day 1

Barcelona

Your adventure begins in the Catalonian capital city of Barcelona. After check-in you will meet with your fantastic Busabout guide to get a feel for all of the exciting upcoming destinations and activities. We have an orientation walk of this ancient Roman city with particular focus on the city’s most famous street, Las Ramblas. Enjoy the vibrant street side atmosphere and explore the famous La Boqueria food market for a tasty local treat. This evening we have a wonderful welcome dinner of authentic Spanish tapas followed by a fun-filled night of song and drink as we try our hands at some karaoke.

Day 2

Barcelona to Valencia

This morning we say adios to Catalonia and head through the picturesque Spanish coast to the birthplace of paella, Valencia. We arrive in this gem later this afternoon and after check-in the day is yours to explore Valencia at your leisure. This town truly has something for everyone from cathedrals to museums, and a treasure trove of cultural significance in the City of Arts and Sciences. Take a stroll and enjoy some incredible seafood in a town known for its delicious local delicacies: paella and horchata.

Day 3

Valencia

Today we have an included bicycle tour of the city to see all the incredible main squares, monuments, and sites of historical significance including the architecturally appealing City of Arts and Sciences. Afterwards the day is yours to enjoy as you please. Visit the Plaza del Mercado and lose yourself in a maze of local foods, or visit the trendy districts of Ruzafa and Barrio del Carmen to explore the newest in local Spanish trends and enjoy the vibe. Alternatively, there is always the welcoming sand of the beach for those who would like to while away the hours in the sun and surf. Whatever your plans, we know you’ll have a blast in this seaside paradise.

Day 4

Valencia to Madrid

We have the morning left in Valencia, so head out and tick those last few sights off the list. This afternoon we board the coach and make our way to the economic hub of Spain, and her capital, the bustling metropolis of Madrid. After checking in we go on an orientation walk to stretch your legs and help you better familiarise with the city. We highly recommend you sign up for tonight's extravagant optional extra, the mesmerising song and dance of an authentic Flamenco show.

Day 5

Madrid

Head out into this beautiful capital and see her many astounding sights. Visit the Golden Triangle of Art and explore Prado museum, Spain’s most prestigious art museum, as well as the modern art of the Reina Sofia Museum, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. See the massive Royal Palace or take a stroll through the green oasis of the Buen Retiro Park. Tonight we have a delicious group dinner followed by an outing to explore the vibrant alternative nightlife around Malasana!

Day 6

Madrid

It’s time to tick off those last minute sights lest you let them pass you by. If you’ve had enough of the city life, join us for a relaxing trip to a hammam to soak away life’s stresses or alternatively take a day trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Toledo.

Day 7

Madrid to Lisbon

Today we say goodbye to Spain and hello to Portugal. Relax on the coach as we travel to the Portuguese coast with a quick pit stop in Evora en route to our destination, the beautiful capital city of Lisbon. We arrive in the capital this evening. After check-in, we recommend discovering the unique atmosphere all along the infamous pink road of Rua Nova do Carvalho for a truly once in a lifetime night on the town.

Day 8

Lisbon

This morning we depart for an included walking tour of the narrow, winding streets of Lisbon’s most picturesque and oldest quarter, Alfama. Discover the birthplace of Lisbon’s haunting traditional music, fado, and explore the towering walls of Sao Jorge Castle and hear the history of Lisbon’s rise to the title of Europe’s capital of espionage. You will have the rest of the day to explore Lisbon. Tonight we have a final group dinner followed by the night to end all nights, as we party up a storm in the world-famous Bairro Alto.
