There are a few things in Europe which are firmly on the trail of the independent traveller - Festival de San Fermin in Pamplona (or Running of the Bulls), La Tomatina in Bunol near Valencia, Hogmanay in Edinburgh, St Patrick's Day in Dublin - but of all of these, Oktoberfest in Munich (or Beerfest or Octoberfest) has got to be top of the 'do before you die' list.  It is not just a European must-do, it ranks up there as one of the Worlds biggest parties.  You have worked hard to travel to the UK - now party until you want to wear lederhosen*

We have a bit of everything in our Oktoberfest packages.  First up - we are flying.  Sitting in a coach from London to Munich takes a looooooong time.  We fly direct to nearby Stuttgart, where you will be met by a merry band of Busabout guides who will entertain you on the way to Munich: a wee hop, skip and a jump away.  The Wombats welcome at our city-centre accommodation (a stone's throw from the 'Fest-site) is legendary.  A free drink will be waiting for you and the best hostel facilities in Munich will be at your disposal for your stay.

Busabout is passionate about independent travel, therefore we are not going to organise every minute of every day for you.  We will organise orientation trips and make sure everybody is included in the awesome experience by taking you down to the festival site on the first day, however you are free to wander as you wish in beautiful Munich.

Now then -  we have designed our 4 packages so that you will find something that tickles your fancy.

Opening Weekend 5 Day Trip 19th September - 23rd September:
This is for those who want the full experience of the opening ceremony and frenzied fever of the first weekend of the Beerfest.

First Midweek 4 Day Trip 23rd September - 26th September:
For those on a bit more of a time and budget constraint but still don't want to sit on a bus all day to get to Munich.

Middle Weekend 4 Day Trip 26th September - 29th September:
For those on a bit more of a time and even tighter budget constraint but still don't want to sit on a bus all day to get to Munich.

Closing Weekend  5 Day Trip 3rd October - 7th October:
For those who are more into the cultural side of Germany's Beer Festivals.  Not only will we stay in Munich and experience Oktoberfest - we will also spend one night in Stuttgart to experience the Volksfest - a lesser known Beerfest but far more 'German' and less touristy experience.
