Mt. Sinai & St Catherine, Sunrise Trek (from Dahab) -  Add on to 11 and 5 day tours

Midnight heralds the start of what will be the most unforgettable part of your trip. Trekking up Mt. Sinai in the moonlight to experience the sunrise from the top of this Sinai peak is every Egyptian travellers ultimate highlight. The religious significance of this journey only magnifies the experience. You will be driven to the base camp from where you will begin your 2 hour trek. Accompanied by 2 Guides – one who will lead the group, and one who will stay at the rear - you will climb up to 2285m. Known locally as 'Gebel Musa' as well as Moses' mountain due to the belief that God delivered the Ten Commandments to Moses at its summit, you will witness the sunrise across the serene Sinai's high mountain region. After a 2 hour descent, a breakfast box will be available for you so you can re-fuel. Your Guide will then provide you with commentary regarding the St Katherine's monastery and give you the opportunity to enter the site.

Abu Simbel (Return coach excursion from Aswan) – Add on to 11 and 7 day tours

Abu Simbel is located 280km south of Aswan on the banks of Lake Nasser. This breathtaking monument comprises two temples cut in the rock that were built by Ramses II to honour himself and his beloved wife Nefetari. The temple was rescued from oblivion through massive international efforts during the building of the High Dam of Aswan. Bookings for the Abu Simbel coach excursion can be made directly through Busabout at the time of booking and is the best value way to see one of

Egypt's greatest monuments.Nile Cruise Upgrade (Days 3- 5) – Add on to 11 day ad 7 day tours

3 nights of luxury on board a 5 star Nile Cruise with on board bar, pool sundeck and air-conditioned cabins. For those wanting a few more creature comforts than the Felucca and a break from life on the road then this is the perfect antidote. Private twin and single cabins are available and it's still possible to combine with Abu Simbel (as the cruise leaves Aswan a day earlier than the Felucca) as you will be picked up and dropped off to the cruise. (Inc. all meals and accommodation on board).

Finishing your Egypt trip in Luxor? Check out the amazing West Bank and Karnak Temple on the Friday morning before you leave! Departs 6am from the Philippe Hotel Luxor to avoid the midday heat (where your tour stays for the last night) - Egyptologist Guide, Entrance Fees and Transport all included. You'll visit the astonishing and exquisitely decorated Pharaoh tombs of the Valley of the Kings which housed the sarcophagi encased mummies of over 60 pharaohs, most famously that of the child king, Tutankhamen. You'll then head to the temple of Hatshepsut, the extolled female pharaoh and the Colossi of Memnon. You'll then visit upper Egypt with a visit to the temple of Karnak, the largest ancient religious site in the world, before heading back to the Philippe Hotel approx. 1pm - perfect if booking the Friday night Sleeper train back to Cairo

Return Sleeper Train Luxor to Cairo – post Tour add on to 7 day tour (Friday)

Head back from Luxor to Cairo on the Friday after your 7 Day One Way Egypt Tour. Trip departs Friday evening 21:40 from Luxor Train Station, arrives Saturday morning 06:45am. Accommodation is in a Private Sleeper Cabin – twin and single options available. Please Collect boarding tickets and check exact times with your Guide on tour. You'll have time for the "Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple" add on to check out all the sites before you head off which we recommend too! Pre-booking required more than 2 weeks from departure.

Aswan Nubian Village Experience (from Aswan) – Add on to 11 and 7 day tours

Experience the typically African culture of Nubia, now modern day Southern Egypt. Take a motorboat along the Nile, passing by rocky formations and islands, a nature reserve, then at a Nubian Village you will see the traditional way of life and visit one of the typical houses.

Tour Single Supplements

Whilst standard accommodation will be in twin or triple share 3* Hotel and Resort rooms (plus twin share sleeper bed cabins from Luxor to Aswan on the 11 and 7 day itineraries for the Night train), there is the option to upgrade to your own single room on all our Egypt itineraries (Single Hotel / Resort room and Single sleeper bed cabins from Luxor to Aswan on the 11 and 7 day itineraries for the Night train). Please note the single room upgrades for the 11 and 7 day itineraries would not include the nights on the Felucca or Cruise.

Pre and Post Tour Accommodation

You can add extra night's accommodation in Cairo / Luxor either side of your tours at time of booking or afterwards through the "extras" tab on MyTrip (Singles, twins and Triple Private options available).
