Simple - you hop-on and hop-off our network around Europe. It's what independent travel is all about: the ability to design your own trip, go where you want and stay as long as you want. Your travel sectors can be pre-booked online or with the Guides on the buses and you are free to change your mind as often as you want (just be careful around the really busy Festivals like Oktoberfest and Pamplona!).
The beauty of Busabout is the endless opportunity to do your own thing. And with buses picking up every two days from each destination, your travel plans have unlimited possibilities.
There are 3 ways to go:
This is the ultimate in flexibility. Choose where you want to go and then buy the number of corresponding flexistops to complete your trip. A flexistop is equal to one day onboard a coach. This pass is ideal if you have a rough travel plan in your head but if that changes (and it probably will!) simply buy the extra flexistops you need from your Guide.
Loops let you focus on one region of Europe or cover the entire network. We've divided our route map into 3 sectors, each of which will give you a fantastic adventure. You can combine any 2 or 3 loops to build your ideal trip. Choose from 1 loop, 2 or all 3 - you decide which loops to mix and match.
The One- Way concept is easy. We've created some simple 'off the shelf' passes which are the more popular routes. Each one contains all the juicy bits of a European region you would want to explore. No need to revisit a city you may have already been to and of course, take as long as you like to complete the trip.
How do I book my buses & accommodation?
Once you've bought your pass you'll get a client reference number. Log on to MyTrip (top of this page), create a password, then you can log in. Ta-da! Your can reserve your buses and accommodation.
Do I have to book in advance?
To guarantee your seat, book through MyTrip. We would recommend doing this a couple of weeks in advance if you can't be flexible with your dates. You can turn up without a booking and if there's space you're welcome onboard but we can't guarantee the bus won't be full.
What if I change my mind?
You can change buses up to 24 hours in advance at no extra cost. If you don't cancel a sector or don't show up, you can still travel that sector, but only on a stand by basis.
Travelling on Busabout means that you do the discovering while our awesome crew are there to help you make the most of your trip. Want to know about that tiny village just south of Prague or which metro line to take for the Eiffel Tower? Just ask and you'll get all the low-down you need for your own tailor-made adventure.
Our Guides and Drivers are all independent travellers who are fanatical about Europe and keen to share their knowledge and experience with you. It's not all historical sites and culture, our guys will give you their own top tips about where to party, the best little family-run restaurant in town and where to go for live music. They've been there and tried it all so have plenty of suggestions.
Save your time & money
We aim to stretch your time and money as far as it will go. As you travel on the coaches our team of Guides will help you plan your trip and book your travel sectors, all on their handheld computers. Before you get to each new destination they will give you the run down on what you really need to know. You're then ready to do your own thing, armed with the best recommendations.
Your safety and comfort is our main concern. Our drivers have not only passed the hardest driving licence to obtain in the UK but have also undertaken four weeks of intense training on the road to make them the best in the business.
We are sure you'll agree...
We are particularly proud of our 'Big Blue' buses. They might not be the most expensive in the world but they are by far the coolest. You may think we are a bit strange but once you've travelled around Europe with us, you will become rather fond of them too. Our modern brand new fleet are air-conditioned, have reclining seats, plenty of leg room and a secure lock-up for your bags. We even had some designer upholstery made especially - your bum has never sat on anything this cool.
The techie stuff
You don't just get choice and flexibility off the coach, you get it on-board too. If you want to hang out with your new-found travel-mates, go for it. If you want to chill and catch up writing the journal instead, you're welcome to. You can also listen to music or watch a movie. Just like on flights we have audio plugs on every seat so when we play DVD's, you can choose to watch and you don't have to be quiet if you don't! And for all you flash-packers we have power points to charge all your electronic bits 'n bobs.
All our coaches offer WiFi connection. Buy access for the day, surf the net and make your family and friends super jealous with your Facebook and Twitter updates. Also, you can access MyTrip to keep track of your travel plans and book your accommodation.
No need to worry about your gear. Today most backpackers carry loads of expensive electronic gadgets and with a semi-decent pack or case, it's no wonder you want it within arms-reach. When you are on the bus all your stuff is locked up underneath and only your driver can get to it so sit back and relax.
One of the best things about travel is the people you meet, whether from back home or other parts of the world. Busabout is perfect for people travelling on their own as you will have the opportunity to meet like-minded travellers and share experiences. Those who do start out by themselves (almost half our travellers!) very soon have a group of friends to travel with. In fact Busabout is the only travel network in Europe operated exclusively for backpackers. In hostels, we place you with fellow Busabouters when possible so you can feel more secure in your accommodation.
We have our very own telly channel – Busabout TV!
This is the place to come for inspiration – where to go, what to do, but more importantly, this is where you really get an idea of what it's like travelling with Busabout.
There's no better way to get a proper insight into hop-on hop-off travel than from one of our passengers. Each year we recruit an 'official' vlogger who has one of the best jobs in the world - to travel round Europe and record their experience for us to watch. Warning: these vids can make you very jealous!
Make a cuppa, then check out all of our vlogger's videos now broadcating on BusaboutTV.
