Meet your Busabout Festivals team and check-in to your tent share accommodation at Camping Thalkirchen! Get comfortable and acquainted with the campsite and then it's our social hour to meet and greet your fellow fest mates. Take the shuttle into Munich centre, an orientation walk and dinner in local beer hall. Return shuttles operate until late into the night, so there's plenty of flexibility.
Let the fun begin! Your Guide will take you all down to the Oktoberfest grounds by shuttle. The opening parade starts at 11am and we'll make sure you will be in the right place at the right time.
The festival begins with a colourful parade through the streets of Munich to the Oktoberfest grounds. Horse and carts in traditional dress carry in the very beer kegs we will soon be drinking from! Watch the landlords make their festive entry to the Theresienwiese.
Head down to The Oktoberfest grounds for another day! Hair of the Dog, soaking up the Bavarian culture, a bike tour, enjoying some of the festival rides...the choice is yours. Don't miss the Riflemen's Parade. This is one of the best and most colourful displays of Bavarian history, culture, and tradition. Watch regional costume groups, 'troops' in historical uniforms, marching bands, riflemen, thoroughbred horses, and even oxen, cows, and goats pass by in a 3-mile long procession.
You also have the option to join our day trip to one of the most stunning parts of Bavaria to visit King Ludwig's famous Neuschwanstein Castle. This region is absolutely breath taking and the castle itself was used as a model for Walt Disney's Cinderella. Your Busabout Guide and driver will take you there in air-conditioned style and have you back in time to party at the Oktoberfest grounds for your last night in Munich.
Time to leave! Check-out is at 10am. For those hopping on the Busabout coach network the coach departs tomorrow. There will be a Busabout coach transfer into Munich central.
