Midnight heralds the start of what will be the most unforgettable part of your trip. Trekking up Mt. Sinai in the moonlight to experience the sunrise from the top of this Sinai peak is every Egyptian travellers ultimate highlight. The religious significance of this journey only magnifies the experience. You will be driven to the base camp from where you will begin your 2 hour trek. Accompanied by 2 Guides – one who will lead the group, and one who will stay at the rear - you will climb up to 2285m. Known locally as 'Gebel Musa' as well as Moses' mountain due to the belief that God delivered the Ten Commandments to Moses at its summit, you will witness the sunrise across the serene Sinai's high mountain region. After a 2 hour descent, a breakfast box will be available for you so you can re-fuel. Your Guide will then provide you with commentary regarding the St Katherine's monastery and give you the opportunity to enter the site.
Abu Simbel (Return coach excursion from Aswan (Day 4) - Book as Add-on
Abu Simbel is located 280km south of Aswan on the banks of Lake Nasser. This breathtaking monument comprises two temples cut in the rock that were built by Ramses II to honour himself and his beloved wife Nefetari. The temple was rescued from oblivion through massive international efforts during the building of the High Dam of Aswan. Bookings for the Abu Simbel coach excursion can be made directly through Busabout at the time of booking and is the best value way to see one of Egypt's greatest monuments.
