Below is a list of optional excursions that you can take part in whilst on our Lapland adventure. Please note all optionals are subject to availability and can be booked and paid for locally EXCEPT the Sampo Ice Breaker, Husky Sled Ride & Overnight sleeper train upgrades. Skidoo Safari (2h/€92)
On the snowmobile adventure, you have the fantastic opportunity to experience the unique countryside of the North. The frozen River Ounasjoki acts as a snowmobile route made by Mother Nature, where snowy landscapes seem enchanting in the mysterious winter twilight. A hot drink served in the totally silent wilderness forest tops off the experience – a great time to take some photographs.
Snow Shoe Safari (2h/€40)
Snowshoe hiking opens up a whole new world of fun for winter visitors. Strap these somewhat cumbersome devices – they look a bit like oversized tennis rackets – on your feet, and they will take you stomping safely through the snow-covered countryside.
Twilight time with Shaman (€25)
While you enjoy the drink of goblins in the warm glow of the open fire, the shaman drums to call the spirits of nature to join in this traditional Lappish Ceremony also known as Lapland Baptism. As a confirmation of this ceremony the Spirit of Fire marks each attendant with a protecting sign.
Reindeer Sled Ride - (€15)
Make friends with the reindeers on this unique excursion. Take part in a reindeer sleigh ride through a winter landscape - an experience not to be missed.
Making Lappish Jewelry/Fly Fishing(€20)
Make your very own souvenir from your trip to Lapland! A local artist will guide through making you own piece of Lappish jewelry or a fishing lure.
Husky sled ride (1h/€48) SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY
After a meet and greet with the huskies, it’s time to start your trip through an exciting ride into the Arctic nature. Enjoy this speedy ride through a beautiful, snowy landscape and admire the sparse Nordic wilderness.

Sampo Ice Breaker tour (4h/€210) SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY
The mighty Icebreaker Sampo operates on the northern Gulf of Bothnia out of Kemi in Finnish Lapland. Once on board the Sampo, passengers have a presentation about the ship and guided tour takes you to the massive engine room and bridge. A meal is served in a ship’s cosy restaurant. And in the middle of largest ice field in Europe, you can drop into the sea and float! Of course, warmly in the survival suit. After this unique experience, ship's Captain presents the certificates for you.
