Yes, there are quicker ways to travel from Paris to Barcelona. But our “Long Way Round” Flexiroute around Europe trip takes you from Paris to Barcelona via the Berlin Wall, Czech castles and Dutch coffee shops, Austrian Alps and Venetian canals, and the French Riviera thrown in for good measure. Try having that much fun on a plane!
Kick off your trip by exploring the sights and sounds of Paris. Head to Bruges for something a little quieter – then Amsterdam for something a little louder!
Cross into Germany to learn how Berlin and Dresden are still recovering and see the history for yourself at a Nazi internment camp in the Czech Republic. While in the Czech Republic you can explore beautiful Prague, and Prague’s smaller version, Cesky Krumlov.
Austria is known for music and mountains, and you can enjoy both in Vienna and Salzburg. Then it’s onto Italy to see Venice’s famous canals, or Michelangelo’s famous ceiling in Rome. Enjoy more Italian flavour in Siena and Florence before soaking up some sun in La Spezia and Cinque Terre, where you’ll get the chance to explore five of the most picturesque villages in Europe. Get luxurious in Nice and Monaco before getting crazy in the Catalan capital of Barcelona, where the buildings are funky and the nightlife fabulous! Hop on and hop off the Busabout buses backpacking Europe at your own pace.
