Start your Europe trip in the centre of the ancient world, visit the centres of the Renaissance, the Christian, and the Spanish worlds, and finish in one of the centres of the modern world. Travel at your own pace. We call it our “Go West” Flexiroute, although you may end up calling it the trip of a lifetime.
Begin in Rome, where you can visit the world’s smallest country: Vatican City. Give yourself a few days to explore the Eternal City before jumping on the coach and heading into Siena. Locals will tell you their Duomo is more beautiful than Florence’s – decide for yourself when you get to the Tuscan capital, where you have the chance to join fellow travellers for a night out. Get your cheesy photo of the Leaning Tower of Pisa before arriving in La Spezia, gateway to the Cinque Terre, where you won’t want to put your camera down for a minute.
Squeeze in some beach time in the French Riviera before crossing the border into Spain for the madness of Barcelona! Next stop on this hop on hop off tour is a visit to the Holy Grail in Valencia, before heading to the heart of Spain in Madrid. Move on up to the party town of San Sebastian, where the old town has more bars per square kilometre than anywhere else. Finish your trip with a wine tour of Bordeaux, a castle tour of the Loire Valley near Tours, and top it all off in Paris, one of the truly great cities of the world. This Flexiroute can be linked with some of our awesome Adventure tours in Italy and Spain. Ideal for backpacking Europe. Click here to find out more.
