Finding accommodation to match your needs is our priority - where to stay is just as important as how you are going to get around. Every year, based on customer feedback, we hand select the best value accommodation in each destination.
Our goal is to find the cleanest, safest, most centrally located budget accommodation that is available. In most cases we stay at fun & friendly hostels. In cities where accommodation is expensive, we use camping villages – mostly with swimming pools, bars & restaurants, internet cafés. A variety of rooms are available to book online depending on your budget – from private ensuite rooms to shared dorms. Prices range from € 15 - 25 per person per night.
Fun city centre hostels
There is no better feeling than arriving in a new city in a new country. The sense of anticipation, excitement and apprehension is intoxicating - its why we are all addicted to travel. Once you experience it you will just want more: will I be able to find my way around? I cant speak the language? where will I stay? - well thats one thing you will not have to worry about on Busabout. Our city centre hostels are the best budget option of what's available in each destination. As your guide gives you an orientation on how the transport system works, which buses go where, how to say your pleases and thank yous in the local lingo (you will need it in France!) all you need to worry about is the adventure you are going to have because your bed is sorted.
Europe is a big place and the idea of 'budget accommodation' means different things in different places. Some destinations have purpose built backpacker hostels, such as the fantastic Wombats in Munich and Vienna, which have all the facilities a modern backpacker could want - en suite bathrooms, full length mirrors, power points for all the flash packing gadgetry, internet, an awesome bar and a vibe that is second to none - all slap bang in the middle of town. In these places not only will you find a comfortable bed but you will be able to party until the wee small hours and have the help of ex-backpackers at the desk to advise you about how to spend your days.
Budget Hotels
Whilst purpose-built backpacker hostels are a welcome addition to the circuit, we also go to destinations which do not have backpacker-style accommodation either of sufficient quality or size to accommodate our merry big blue buses. In these cases we have sourced the most suitable budget accommodation available. These tend to be 1/2** hotels, which whilst may not have as many backpacker-friendly facilities still offer a safe, secure and clean place to lay your head.
Paris and Nice are examples of this, however given that both our accomodations are bang slap in the middle of the town with all the French delights on their doorsteps who wants to spend time in the accommodation. All the services which you need will be nearby - your guide will point them all out as you drive through the city. Many of these accommodations offer private rooms or dorm-style rooms - check out myBusabout for availability.
Camping Villages
In destinations where accommodation is expensive we have our third and favourite accommodation type - Camping Villages. Whilst these places tend to be away from the city centre they are all well connected by public transport and make up for it with their value and facilities. We have 4 Camping Villages: Camping Jungfrau in Lauterbrunnen, Alba D'Oro in Venice, Camping Roma in Rome, and Camping Internationale in Florence. It is possible to camp at these Villages for the adventerous amongst you, however we would recomend the cabin-style accommodations.
Why are they called villages? Well because the facilities are as long as you arm! In Lauterbrunnen Hans & Ruth will welcome you with supermarkets, bike hire, restaurants (the Rosti's are unmissable), unparalleled local knowledge on nearly every mountain adrenalin sport you can think of and probably the most memorable night-spot on the network: The Bombshelter. Camping Roma deserves a special mention also: with recently installed air-conditioned cabins with fridges costing only 12euros a night (triple share), swimming pool, beach volleyball, restaurants and a kicking bar that will revitalise you after a hard day wandering around Rome.
